Hi NightOwl; Re: "The real question is why ever would you insist on attaining such "insight?" Presumably Jesus had it and look what it did for Him."

A "compassionate neoconservative" is someone who can watch a Hollywood version of the death of Christ and feel great empathy for Jesus, but feels nothing for the more than ten thousand who died in Iraq for nonexistent WMDs.

Actually, joking aside, I think $ill Gates would be a pretty good president, or at least divine inspiration. I'm one of those who thinks along the Catch 22 line that those wanting to be President automatically disqualify themselves. Those seeking power aren't the ideal type to be wielding it.

I haven't seen the movie or read the book, but I think the Lord of the Rings is something to do with that stuff.

I really don't like Divine Emperors or the likes of Saddam, Mao etc who make decisions by speaking to the ghosts in their own minds or getting guidance from some supernatural spook. I think that King George II doesn't just mean quiet contemplation, reflection and pondering when he says he prays [well, that's not what I think of when people say they pray, as prayer is meant to be a hotline to the Main Man].
