<<I can't help but wonder if, statistically, it's possible that there are some SI people who wouldn't be here if the war hadn't been ended when it was, partly because of the efforts of people like Kerry.>>

I doubt Kerry ended the war one minute sooner. There also might be more people on SI if Kerry had been killed. Hero vet comes back, has some mental problems from being in the war. Kerry and clan jump on their case causing them to become homeless bums. And no, that's not a stretch.

"Maybe even some who will vote against Kerry because he worked to end the war."

Long--Long--Long ago.........in another Galaxy........I'm gonna paraphrase now, or something like that...pay attention..
IT'S HIS VOTING RECORD!! STUPID !!!! That's what they will vote against....IMO

I can't help but wonder if, statistically, it's possible that there are some SI people who wouldn't be here if the war hadn't been ended when it was, partly because of the efforts of people like Kerry.

Here are a few statistics you don't have to wonder about.

Thanks to Kerry's efforts:
After we left, the Khmer Rouge Communists murdered 2 million Cambodians in the killing fields.

After we left, the N Vietnamese Communists murdered several hundred thousand Montagnard tribesmen.

After we left, nobody knows for certain how many Laotians were executed...I have seen estimates of over a million.

After we left, Kerry's cousin is making his fortune as the Vietnam international real estate broker.

After we left, Kerry's wife's investment in the GAP paid off as they moved production to Vietnam.

If Kerry & his anti-war peers hadn't made it politically
impossible to prosecute the war in order to force
surrender or a favorable negotiated peace, perhaps it
would have ended sooner with less deaths & a victory. That
would have kept the Commies from the massive slaughter of
millions of innocent civilians after we left in disgrace.

FWIW, my hypothesis is equally valid as yours as neither
had a chance to play out in reality.
