The exact sources of that assertion should be tracked down. Kerry also ought to be asked who, exactly, told him any such thing, and what it was, exactly, that they said they did in Vietnam.

This is exactly right. Someone running for public office should never be exempt from questions regarding his past. Telling Americans they can't ask questions about an individual's military service or congressional record because doing so is an attack on his patriotism is a straw dog designed to avoid or deflect scrutiny. Thankfully, in America, no one running for POTUS could ever hope to get away with that.

You've done an excellent job of presenting one side of a complicated issue, and I'm personally looking forward to a full examination of Senator Kerry's record. It would be difficult to make a decision about who to vote for in a presidential election without understanding the man, who he is and what he stands for. And it would be unfair to expect Americans to make such a huge decision without being allowed to ask questions.

Thanks........
