Problem is that by 1972, popular support for the war was largely gone. And if the easter offensive was successfully rebuffed, why by 1975 were conditions so bad?
And i know you will have very good answers and we can go on and on. Bottom line is that NV had the staying power and we didnt. We werent willing to die in such large numbers and kill in such large numbers in a war that already had gone on for 10 years.
And as the beatles once said, even if your right your wrong because by 1972 or 1973, promising americans victory in vietnam would be met with derisive laughter even if totally true. Its like the reverse of crying wolf. Mike
