"Celibacy is an act of love and faith in God"

That's what people think and say, but if you have an honest discussion with a priest you will soon see that there was no sacrifice. Priests are, before becoming priests, predisposed to celibacy. That's what attracts them to the priesthood. Guys that don't want to have sex, or are confused by women's sexuality, choose the priesthood.

Look, I'm not denying the celibate life is a legitimate avenue for those that chose a spiritual life. What I'm saying is that most priests are already predisposed to celibacy before becoming priests, even as children some recognize that the girl-thing is not up their alley. If there is no temptation to overcome, then there is nothing spiritual in being celibate.
