It was a rough surf and the red flag was flying in front of my condo. Life guards were driving up and down the beach trailing red flag and with a megaphone telling people to stay out of the water. It was extremely dangerous surf. A unit of helicopter pilots were having a reunion at the beach. They were everywhere, up and down the island, and having a wonderful time. Two grown men with their families had too many beers and decided they were going swimming. They went out in the surf and then couldn't get back. I was standing on my balcony and saw what was happening..I quickly dialed 911 and told them two men were drowning . About six of the ex helicopter pilots went out and dragged the drowning men back to shore...The rescue unit arrived immediately and started their resuscitation... The ex-pilots ran off saying, "We're still saving lives!"
