Don't know which America you live in, but it is the religious right who want to 'sanitize' and wipe out Halloween, Hollywood, and just about every other thought that doesn't agree with their holier-than-thou attitudes. They view such as so much Satan worship. Same ones who also ban books. Local kids in the Christian schools can't read and report on Harry Potter books. Next, they'll go after Dr Seus. Yes, moderates used to laugh at these sort of people, ones who thought so narrowly and hatefully. But, thanks to Bush, we take seriously the threat to free speech and democracy posed by the Puritans. Just as Clinton was surprised by the '96 vote, Bush will be surprised in '04. However, in this case, he'll be swept out and back to Crawford or New Haven or where ever he really comes from... hehe.
