Since I've argued with Thomas M and some of his online friends for years, I sometimes know the facts about some of the things he posts about over and over off the top of my head.

In this case, there is no secular marriage law in Israel. One has to be married as a Christian, Jew or Moslem. None of the religions perform mixed marriages. So people of different religions who do marry do so by one party converting or by flying to Cyprus, marrying there, then coming back. Not an ideal situation but not exactly what TM is trying to depict.
