It's one spin, based on some truth. Haiti is a mess. Way back when Haiti was a French colony, it was estimated that Haiti's exports provided 50% of France's economy. After the insurrection defeated Napoleon's forces, the mess began, with one despot following another. I don't think they could know any different, it's has a very vague similarity to Iraq. A constitution does not make a democracy.

I wonder what Bush is going to do now. Another "provisional authority"? If Haiti could be considered a war, we would have three going on. Regardless we're going to have three governments up and running with nothing to support them but outside military forces.

Is there some truth in what Aristide is saying? Maybe.
