My brother is visiting, so I have to be brief. I would bet a lot that Jmannuel was written in modern times, based on Matthew. The reference in the material that the secretary was found to be relying on Matthew, but now aliens (irrelevant who) corrected that problem is a tip that they were aware of the problem. At best it was written awhile ago based on Mt, similar to the Gospel of Thomas or other even more creative works. Nobody hides from any of that literature. The whole story is just unbelievable, and now there are only these translations? If it's a genuine document it is a tragedy it was discovered by the guys that had it. That is why I suggest you look to other documents. The material I pointed out mostly related to evidence from the promoters of the idea that they were authoring and changing the text in modern times. Their reference to UFO's, etc., sensationalizes it and points to motives, target audience and interests on their part that do not affect my points about the material as a source for Matthew. Maybe Borg would be of use to you about the sources for the stories in the NT. I bet you find nobody outside that circle of people (UFO or New Age maybe) who think that the document has any authenticity about it at all. NT textual papyri go back very early. The variant readings have been documented by scholars in what is called the critical apparatus. The tiniest changes are shown in the various "families." The Alexandrian collections have their own history of text transmission, compared with other fragments which have been found. There is no secret about any of it. Well, that's of little interest.
