Hi mph,

Actually Kerry would make his request under the Privacy
Act (also listed in your link). There would be no
compelling reason for the government to deny his request.

FWIW, you provided proof that AS lied. Bush or Cheney
could obtain Kerry's records under FOIA as they would be
exempt from FOIA restrictions. However, they would not be
able to release any of the information to the public due
to Privacy Act protections.

Exemption Six -
Private Matters

Personnel files, medical files, and other files that would
lead to an invasion of personal privacy if released, are
exempted.

Only Kerry would be able to legally request & publicly
release his medical records regarding his three Purple
Heart wounds.

Where was Bush in 1972 anyway? His records don't clarify that. Doonesbury's Trudeau has a $10,000 reward for anyone who witnesses Bush reporting for duty in 1972. No takers.

The issue here is a combat hero versus a shirker of duty and cheat. At the very least, Bush scammed his way out of duty. Kerry performed heroically. Go ahead and look at his records, you won't find anything you can use against him. Keep digging for dirt, you won't find anything wrong with Kerry on any level. Many have tried before and they have all failed. All they can come up with are liberal leanings. Big deal. We could use some liberal leabings in DC now after four years of right wing one-party rule.
