The deal to get Osama in time for the elections.
“Musharraf told us, ‘We’ve got guys inside. The people who provide fresh fruits and vegetables and herd the goats’” for bin Laden and his Al Qaeda followers. “It’s a quid pro quo: we’re going to get our troops inside Pakistan in return for not forcing Musharraf to deal with Khan.”

In return for providing Karl Rove with an October Surprise - the capture of Osama Bin Laden - Pakistan will face no problems over it's spread of nuclear technology.

If he was already caught, it would explain the nuclear admission, and pardon in Pakistan. The deal has been concluded, the quid-pro-quo exchanged and all that remains is the announcement.

According to a report here, Laden’s arrest took place "some time ago". But it gave no further details.

It claimed US officials were keeping news of the arrest secret and were likely to announce it later in the year in order to help US President George W. Bush's re-election chances in November.

The report said US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's visit to Afghanistan during the week was intended to follow up on bin Laden's purported arrest.
