Just wondering ... If Americans knew (other than those of us that pay close attention) how many times various Fed officials have talked about the Great Depression in the last 6 months, would they be really scared?

I think this sentence is critical: ... the incorrect view that low nominal interest rates necessarily signaled monetary ease. Get out the helicopters. Or bury bottles of money (as Keynes suggested).
