Yes, Kerry is more a systemist than I would have liked, especially on the money front. My whole life I've been a Nader-like voter, always searching and voting for the candidate most apt to shake things up, the candidate most likely to turn new pages in government. But against the Bush Administration? Kerry will indeed be a breath of fresh air.

Here's what I'm hoping for. That Kerry trounces the GOPwingers, handing them a defeat on the level to what George McGovern saw. That Kerry, once in power and with a huge electoral mandate, becomes his own man unbeholden to others, and he becomes sensitive to voices often not heard in government, that that he becomes a leader sensitive to the needs of the whole world, not just America's corporate interests. That once he's in the White House the musician within him influences the kind of national politician he becomes.
