re: any Shiites in this country doing this? Every culture has odd customs, that other cultures use to ridicule and condemn them. You are doing your bit to demonize the Others, make them look sub-human. Turn it around. Weekly, many millions of Americans participate in an ancient ritual of symbolic cannibalism. "This is my body you eat, this is my blood you drink..." To the Shiites, Americans seem like blood-thirsty, habitually violent savages. Which is about the way we think of them, too.
