Thanks for trying, but I still have a blank in the "download from server box." I followed your instructions implicitly and do show urlold.ini and the new url.ini. One of the problems seems to be that I originally did not have a choice in word pad to save the file in all files. Saved it as text then saved it again in all files.

In AVG it shows as a configuration setting that opens with note pad. This seems incorrect to me. I'll try again later to redo, but looks like I am heading for a reinstall which is probably not so terrible. I do se AVG 7.0 on the Grisoft web site. I have been using 6.0.595. do you know anything about 7.0???
