It was a pretty rude thing to say in a eulogy. I can't
recall ever hearing a bad word uttered during a eulogy in
my life, except on TV (fictional & contrived). For
goodness sakes, the person is gone & can't defend
themselves! There are relatives mourning the loss of a
loved one.

Delivering a eulogy is not the time to indulge in
unflattering remarks IMO. We really are losing our sense
of dignity & compassion. It seems that nothing is sacred
anymore.

FWIW, I would have spoken my mind too.
