There is no evidence the internet bubble caused a recession. It caused major problems, especially for the market, but that would have recovered. The Bush recession started in March 2001, he did not inherit a recession as he likes to say. The energy crisis also helped push the economy down. That "crisis" is now known to be massive fraud conducted by Bushie energy companies led by Enron and their cover-up man Ed Gillespie.

Then - given those two events - how should the economy have been stimulated?

There is something I have wondered about concerning Juniors tax cuts. If Junior cut the taxes as a response to a recession 2001 why do the biggest part of the tax cuts not take affect until 2009 which just by coincidence would be the year after he left office if he was elected. If tax cuts were the answer to the economies problems in 2001 why didn't he make the front-end cuts higher then phase them out again as the economy recovered and the cuts would not be needed but the revenue would.

If Junior thinks he knows what the economy will be like in 2009 or any other future year why doesn't his budget make any predictions longer than 5 years out?
