To Remove Windows Messenger:

1. Find the file Sysoc.inf, located in the C:\Windows\INF\ folder.

2.Open it in Notepad.

3.Scroll down to the following line:

msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7

4. Edit the line to read:

msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf, ,7

5. Save the file and reopen the Windows Component Wizard in Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs. You should see Windows Messenger now listed.

Open Outlook Express. Go to Tools/Options and on the general tab remove the checkmark next to "Automatically log on to Windows Messenger"

Completely remove it.
