Lanier is one of the wealthiest guys in Houston. Lawyer big into real estate development. His company owns about 3000 apartments. Mayor (very popular) through most of the '90s. Not mayor anymore only cause of term limits. Still the kingmaker. Oh, yes, a moderate Democrat who pulls a lot of Republican votes. Here's a question for you. Do you remember what color the big Hilton near the Med Center was - torn down now but was there in the early '80's and visible from Warwick Towers?
