I copied the quote exactly as it was on the bushisms.com page. Your quote may be the more correct one but I think the part of yours in brackets is an effort by the author to show what Junior was referring to. I thought when he said that (to John McCain) he was telling him he didn't want to talk about the dirty tricks Rove and his campaign staff had pulled on McCain in the primary.

I did change the part after the quote. Here it is as it appeared on the page but I have added an observation in bolded brackets:
