100% agree. In order to win, he has to step away from his base and get the indys that will gravitate back to bush. To do that he has to be a believable defender of american interests not a pacifist, & wishy-washy internationalist. OTOH bush cannot take indys gravitating back to him for granted either. mike
PS if they both stick to their base we get the tie and a strong possibility for winner who loses pop vote.

Kerry has pounded on Vietnam quite a bit, and it appears that he was an aggressive officer who put the well-being of his men before his.

He was such an outstanding commander and fearless warrior that he used a coupla scratches as an excuse to abandon his ship and men on a battlefield.

He may be the only US Naval Officer to ever do that.
