I feel that educational institutions at all levels are basically mismanaged and therefore have themselves to blame for much of their woes. The administrations are usually top-heavy and the administrators extremely well-paid. On the college level, the big gun tenured prof. types don't even teach. They get grants and let TA's do the job. Such problems can't be solved just by throwing money at them. They need to do a ground up restructuring. Just my thoughts.
