You know, the real truth on employment is that if people felt the president and congress gave a damn and were truly trying to remedy the situation of all this job loss, voters might give the incumbent a pass. I think the real objection is that folks don't want their lives to be fodder for something that is nothing more than a supply side economic experiment to validate the theory of comparative advantage. Some Republican senator from NV (Ensign) called the long term jobless "lazy" on c-span recently, my guess is, he is out in 04.
