CDU and FDP have agreed to nominate IMF leader Koehler as candidate for the Federal President election on May 23. Without going into constitutional details this means he is likely to be elected.

What does Koehler's election mean to Joshke's position?

Is he out with Schroeder?

Foreign Minister is an appointed office, right?

BERLIN - Horst Koehler, a former head of the International Monetary Fund who has called for bolder economic reforms in Germany, was elected Sunday as the country's ninth postwar president.
