it is not the military per se that accomplishes this it is the threat of being eliminated by a determined force or entity.The GW administration has served notice on the terrorists of the world that terror and force will be met with equal and superior force by the USA and all other friendlys..... starting with Ronald Reagan and pulling out of Lebanon after the bombing of the Marine compound in Beriut and then 8 years of Clinton, Albright, Cohen and their policies of appeasement and compromise...all this led the Islamic radicals to believe they could fug with the USA and other friendly countries and get away with it... America and Bush has drawn a line and spoken loudly..... fug with the USA and you die..... now that has stopped Terrorism as we have grown(under Clinton) to know it. there are of course many, many other facets to our, USA, foreign policy but you get my point I'm sure... regards
