People are not attracted to celibacy per se, they are attracted to the overall vocation. I know of no reliable data for priestly chastity. As far as I know, only a handful of Popes had children, not all while Pope, during the corruption of the Renaissance Papacy, when political infighting among leading Italian families affected the selection of the Pope. I do not know the extent to which asexual disposition enters into the matter. I merely note that it is speculative on your part........
