Jobs are doing very well here in Texas.

It is hard to find someone who wants to work.

In 2000 it was impossible.

This is a lot of criticism that is politically oriented vs historically a problem.

JMHO

We are in a growth mode in our economy. With rates locked in to be low all this year - corporate profits will be maximized in 04.

I think the outrageous increases in health benefits cost is the biggest impediment against additional hiring.

It is much cheaper to pay overtime than add a person and have to deal with the state unemployment beurocrats.

Hi CC,

OT --- "Bush has YET to come up with ANY jobs.."

What does this mean? Should the government create millions of federal, state, and local employment? Geesh...

Sorry, I am pulling for job creation in the public sector. I cannot blame business for being conservative. Recession as Clinton leaves office, the "bubble", 9-11, transportation companies on their knees, Productivity improving, etc....why would they load up?

L.

PS..I think that the unemployment was 6.2% at this time in the Clinton era versus 5.6% now. The economy is booming. Employment will return... jmho.

>>Bush has YET to come up with ANY jobs....let alone 2.6 MILLION!
CC

I think you're wrong, I think his reelection campaign is hiring right now. Is that what you mean? Or did you mean Bush should actually be putting the help wanted ads in newspapers and doing the interviewing himself? Gosh I wonder how long it will take him to interview 2.6 million people, gee I guess he cant do it alone.
