I'm surprised by the rebound action. It does appear, like some of the articles have suggested, that the INTC news has already been priced in. Maybe we do get the next leg up soon, as we have finally broken above 1160 on the S+P. Very positive for the short term, imo, but a little to early to call. Let's see how this plays out.

I agree with both Gottfried and Michael's comments. It seems to me as if 'the market' was pretty quick this morning to try and use INTC's remarks to slip back into the sector. Two follow-up comments: (1) As others have pointed out, I believe INTC's management is notorious for the "Lou Holtz" approach to information release (overplay on the downside and wait for positive surprises downstream in time) and (2) I'm not sure where else the money is to be made right now. There has been some talk of rotations into biotech - but I've played in that sector too and it is every bit as volatile and dangerous as this one. In fact, this sector has pricing dynamics that while not completely understood are at least better in focus than what goes on there. I'll never forget President Bill's "I will not allow the human genome to be patented" comment, which I have always thought heralded the bursting of the tech bubble 4 years ago. jess.
