Kerry wanted to kill the B1, B2, F15, F16, Abrams tank, Patriot missile, Apache helicopter, Tomahawk cruise missile, Aegis air-defense cruiser. 1991 - voted twice to cut 2% & $3B from defense. 1992 voted to cut $6B from defense. 1993 voted against military pay raise. Introduced plan to cut number of Navy subs and their crews, reduce Army light infantry units to 1, reduce tactical fighter wings in the Air Force, terminate the Navy coast mine-hunting ship program, and force retirement of 60,000 servicemen. 1995 voted to cut $34B from defense and freeze defense spending for 7 years, 1996 introduced bill to cut $6.5B from defense.
