a good study of unemployment rates/changes prior to elections, and what the implications are for the Incumbent. The Incumbent, according to The Econ., in order to be assured of safety in the election must see a turnaround in job creation 9 months before the election. Without the turn-around, the advantage accorded to the incumbent--on economic matters--is lost.
