There isn't much you can do about that. Sorry. Salaries will come down as the economy goes work wide. My husband and I saw this coming when we were in college- and it came a little faster than we thought it would 25 years ago, but still, we expected it. And there is not way to turn it around. The only think you can do is try to keep the leading edge stuff, and try to keep competitive- right now we aren't doing even that. If you try to avoid the pain completely, without admitting to the realities, you're going to fail. There will be pain. This is a dislocative process.
