Duke Re...Whatever the reason, the message of the $10MM Bush add campaign is now lost. By the time people like Himaly and Russ Limbaugh get through 'defending' it, the country has already moved on.

In your dreams maybe. In real life, most people might see this as a suppression of free speech, and dirty campaign tactics. It is ironic the dems wish to discuss Nam, from 30 yrs ago, and do not wish to discuss Gw's record, especially in the context of 9/11. Why not. You can't run away from it. And the big question is, if you want to run away from 9/11, what makes you think the dems won't run just as fast, the first time they are challenged, should Kerry win. Leadership is all about facing your demons, and overcoming them, not running away from them. Remember when Reagon took over the microphone, and said, I paid for this, and I have the right to speak. The same thing will happen here. GW's people have already said the adds will continue, and they will show a president not being cowed, by a bunch of whiners. People want strong leadership; and Gw could easily exploit this, to show his strong leadership, as opposed to the Dems, evading the topic.

It might be a cleverly crafted Democratic phycological counter offensive but I don't think they are that smart.

Bingo.

That leaves the possible emotion reaction that is a subconcious expression of understanding that 9/11 justifies a lot of things, but it does not justify disingenuity and lack of foresight or economic stupidity.

But it does justify leadership, and the dems had better start to embrace strong leadership. Instead of criticizing Gw for 9/11, where GW, according to all polls, Gw showed strong leadership, the dems need to assail GW where he didn't show strong leadership. Certainly, GW's evasion of his responsibility in the guard would be one such instance, except it was 30 yrs ago, and Kerry himself campaigned against people joining the military at that time. Pick, another more recent event, which shows a lack of leadership, and you might have something.
