"Lowering payroll taxes"

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what funds the system that is going to be incredibly overburdened as soon as the boomers start retiring (in about 3 years). It is also what funds the system (same one) that the democrats are howling mad over Greenspan's realistic comments about the need to reduce the payouts in the future.

How can you say (with a straight face) that we should reduce those taxes, and yet demand that the needs are met later on? It's a flagrant example of the dem hypocrisy imo.

I read a recent Will piece that quoted what the future burden of SS will be. Somthing that made the current deficit look like pocket change. $5 trillion, I believe. Also mentioned there were like 20 plus employess vs. retirees. Now about 3.1. In the next 10 years something like 2.1 per retiriree. Why do you ignore this information and state (again, with a straight face) that we should actually REDUCE the funding of this?

Typical demo insanity.
