Hi Iso,
Not as surprised as me... Strangely I have no sellers remorse... yet :o)
A coupla reasons... (and ya I feel kinda nekkid right now)

Sold the trusts
1) because I had big profits on Transforce
2) the legislation speculation is back and maybe has a twist now that more trusts are holding back income to acquire etc... If the tax status gets changed distributions will be hit and so of course unit values.
3) shoulder season maybe ?
4) gotta study it more and I'll be away for Spring break and don't want too many surprises when I return....

All the trusts had nice profits actually even net of the distributions :o)

The new Federal budget up here is due in a couple of weeks. I'll wait for that to see how to proceed.... I've got two other big positions one a PM and frankly I've not been sleeping too well fretting over the market so I'd like to take a break... It's not just trusts I'm liquidating...

I've been spinning wheels up and down in 2004 with lots of market stress and little return to show... Also I don't want to do something stupid and give back hefty profits from the last two years... Frankly if not for my PYR and CUX.TO scores I'd be down for the year... and I was up almost 15% at one point in 2004...

Here are some links... There has been talk of this tax issue on and off for a while but it's little louder right now and my risk tolerance is reduced presently... At this time I don't think I have a huge opportunity cost for being out beyond the distributions... and if they do take a hit better for me to jump back in... I still like the income idea..
