Duke Re...If I am going to vote for someone, that person has to convince me that he is honest and smart, or both. Any other combination, he does not have to prove.

Sounds like you won't be voting for anyone, for the next 50 yrs.

But, if that person NEEDS my vote, then, if the burden of an allegation has been made, he will have the burden of proving that he is honest and smart.

I assume you voted for Bill's impeachment then.

And I think you are beginning to see that the rest of the voter population feels the same.

Not at all. Most people want the accuser to prove his allegations, not the other way around.

Normally, politics is like a sausage factory. You don't care nor want to care how it gets made, as long as it is done.

That is true. And that is why most people don't care all that much about WMD. They were just happy, that it finally got done.

Duke,

re: Normally, politics is like a sausage factory. You don't care nor want to care how it gets made, as long as it is done.

But if it is not getting done, then you have to go to the factory to witness the process.

Very cool. Next time fit a Bob Dylan quote in there and I'll really be impressed.
