Bill when you add this to rambis asian times article and my anecdotal evidence, we got to think that both the US and Asia will dwarf european growth for years to come. Perhaps the economic powerhouse that will appear in the future lies in eastern europe in Russia and bordering states. They are still in the early stages breaking out of autocratic socialist mentality while the western europeans are playing around with the more democratic welfare state model. The US creative destruction model along with succesful Asian growth models and perhaps a Russian model based on expanding oil wealth into other economic areas is where the future is. Western Europe needs to change its lying ways and they are so deep into socialist doo doo, they may have to deal with political upheavals of their own. mike
