Shia and sunni without kurds cannot exist. If the kurds break away now they need the sunnis to give them legitamacy. They also need to make peace with turks. So maybe a kurdish leader emerges here. Shiaa end up running little iran and we all wait until the mullahs in iran blow themselves up. Mike
PS i am thinking out of the box this morning so this is not necessarily what i believe (yet). I am throwing this stuff out in the hopes that bush admin folks are being creative and not wedded to the original plan. Even the threat of this kind of outcome may scare sistani straight. I really dont think he wants to be an iran puppet. mike
