I would assume that Soros was in favor of the campaign finance law and that he probably wanted it to go further. The reality is that it increased the power of those individuals, like Soros, who can write huge checks to the "527" organizations.

There is another significant provision to the law that has already had an effect on the primaries. The candidates need to personally state that they are have approved each ad. That requirement is going to cut down on the number of negative ads that are run.

Congress may want to take another look at the law after the election. I am starting to worry about that $300 million that Hillary is going to be raising for 2008.
