I don't think it's safe to say that, at all. Gore would have negotiated with al Qaeda, or thrown some cruise missiles like Clinton did (he didn't even do that after the '93 WTC bombing).

Moreover, you missed my point about Clinton's failure to take action while still in office, before 9/11. Clinton had been in the driver's seat for 8 years; Bush had been in office only 9 months.

Invasion of Iraq wasn't a mistake. Taking out Saddam was a good thing. You should listen to Joe Lieberman, who would be our V.P. today if you guys had had your way.

Finally, we did not unilaterally invade Iraq, basically or otherwise. That's pure political b.s., which you've either fallen victim to. Just because the "un"-nations failed to take action to enforce its own resolutions doesn't mean our action was unilateral. The UN doesn't govern the world, or even the U.S., thank God.
