you make perfect sense at a macro level but the fact is our economy holds up the worlds military (and all of the costs) as well as other stabilizing forces and if we decimate ourselves (which is happening) we cannot continue like this. I think it is quite clear we (the US) cannot subsidize drug development and that is why Grassley is pushing for that bill to import from Canada. No jobs means no taxes means we need to cut the military completely, shut it down, because we are in deficit for the entire military budget. BTW are you aware that the PPI is 2 mos late? Of course we all know we are now in an inflationary environment, stagflation actually or something worse than stagflation because we are actually losing jobs (so not a "stag" environment).
