Grassley is sponsoring a bill for importing drugs from Canada. Good for him. Another republican willing to take a stand.

(I'm not overly enthused with Canadian drugs but when you are asking the entire middle class to suffer in their employment situation due to "free trade" then denying that same group the benefits of free trade is the height of hypocrisy)

Grassley, Kennedy Crafting Law to Allow Drug Imports (Update4)

March 4 (Bloomberg) -- Senate Finance Committee Chairman Charles Grassley said he is crafting legislation with Senator Edward Kennedy to allow Americans to legally buy medicines from Canada, where the government controls prices.

Drugmakers including Pfizer Inc. and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration oppose imports, saying they pose safety risks. Grassley said Senate Republican leaders are reluctant to schedule a vote on a drug import measure, and he may try to attach the proposal to another bill as an amendment.

``The U.S. has to think about (drug imports) as part of a free-trade policy,'' Grassley said in an interview. ``We'll have to find a vehicle (for the bill), and a vehicle's not been found.''

I think the rallying cry should be: ABB!

Bush is not only a terrible President, with terrible results, but is the most dangerous combination: a man of deep convicts with no vision, perspective, wisdom, or ability to sense or understand the viewport of those who disagree. He is a reformed alcoholic born again who puts on blinders to avoid falling off the wagon. He is a blind demagogue who gives his trust to advisors and then hands them his moral authority, never questioning their intentions.

He must go.

I don't like Kerry very much... but I can easily see myself voting for him over Bush.
