It also warns of bills recently introduced in Congress that would require employees of call centres to disclose their locations at the beginning of all phone calls. ''If enacted, this legislation could result in consumer pressure to curtail our use of low-cost operations outside the US, which could reduce the cost benefits we currently realise from using them,'' GE wrote in the filing. I ask, then hang up if the person is outside the US.

It matters also that to remain competitive, GE (or any other company for that matter), not spend more than they have to for any of their manufacturing inputs. I'm surprised that you, as an investor and a "management consultant," haven't yet figured out how a business functions.
