Van Eden believes that the bull in gold (if there is one) is completely explained by a dollar bear ... that's ok for now, but one has to realize with the USD having its reserve currency of the world status -- there's more going on.

All his reasoning and work are fine as far as they go -- and I really did enjoy a piece he wrote on kitco -- which charted gold versus a GDP wieghted basket of currencies.
Is 750 the current value for gold?? <g> I think the current value of gold is determined by the markets <ng>

All his work tells me is: It is very early in the bull market for gold. Very early stage. Just like Bernie Shaeffer mentioned in his piece a little while back (coming at it from investor sentiment standpoint).

His analysis in terms of currencies I think is good, but I think you have to include the socio-political backdrop as well to understand gold.
