Thanks for the correction. End of sales vs. end of life. Don't look for any additional Feature Releases on it either way. XP is much better than 1.8. It is more stable, and has better support for printing. MetaFrame is all about Access. The franchise on terminal services is no longer relevant. They have had a huge hoard of cash with which to buy time until they could find a new niche. The portal concept was not self selling. There is much competition in the space. The Terminal Service concept was the proverbial "better mousetrap". Some selling was necessary, but with seminar selling, it really took off. That is why Microsoft subsumed it. Will the GoToMyPC addition give Citrix some breathing room? Citrix is experiencing success selling the Access idea in some markets.
