Hi Don, Re: After awhile, kicking an idiot just for being an idiot is a waste of time. My feet are getting tired and we don't seem to be running out of idiots. <grin> Yup, there are several lifetime's worth of members of the No-Nothing Party here on SI. And this is a rather intelligent sampler of the consciousness of the American public. It's frightening to consider how little is between the ears of the great masses who don't get any information except from TV or talk radio, and they are rapidly becoming a majority of the people who call the U.S. home. One thing I like about a contributor like Ike(1) Latif is that he actually brings a great deal of intelligence to the debate, and it's a pleasure to see the gears working in his mind, albeit a convoluted conniving contraption being the main thing I see at work. He's the rare exception in amongst the Bush supporters I see infesting this bulletin board. My current tally of "ignored" individuals is up to 55. I imagine some are long gone from SI, and I'm delighted they are long gone from my consciousness. **** The problem with most Bush supporters is their rabid anti-intellectualism and their perfect willingness to deceive themselves with convenient mythologies. Here's a book that I just came across that they will be loathe to read, let alone acknowledge: Robbing Us Blind: The Return of the Bush Gang and the Mugging of America by Steve Brouwer amazon.com While it won't make for a pleasant evening's reading, I highly recommend it to our GHP (Gross Hypocrisy Party) lurkers. :) Cheerio! * (1) Do you recall the Eisenhower for President buttons? tinyurl.com "I Like Ike!"
