I don't think Judges in California have much say over the financial settlements between divorcing couples. In Los Angeles County and most (maybe even all) counties, the settlement is calculated by an all-powerful $415 Windows computer program called the Dissomaster.

My ex-business partner just divorced and except for the appraisals it was all done by computer. Financial changes in either person's life are handled by one more run through the machine. As bizarre as it seems, the program even handles the child custody arrangements. Not even the divorce attorneys can fully explain how it works.

Apparently, your chances of getting a Judge to over-rule the results of the Dissomaster program are slim to none.

You simply run the program and file this form with the court.
