The chinese are building win-tel free computers with a chip of their own design. It is only a matter of time until india does the same.

That's not the issue. Globalization will indeed occur & as a result the globe will become one huge bland, boring planet but that's not the point. There's a difference between globalization done in haphazard greedy capitalistic orgy & one that takes into considereration all the ramifications. It should include trade agreements that take into consideration not only corporations rights to do business anywhere in the world but also protection of workers rights to a fair wage, safe working conditions. No one is arguing globalization should come to a halt; rather that adjustments are necessary to rules already in place and that future agreements need to be negotiated with consideration for all people, not just those who control capital. This is not the 18thC....no matter how much many capitalist fundamentalists wish that were the case.
