Mauldin Reply to Mish on Housing
Mike,

Thank you for the comments. I have not done a letter like this, but you bring up some interesting points. I have seen some speculation on this with out any numbers to back it up. Basically, some see the housing market doing what the commercial real estate market did in the 80’s. They keep building because the financing is available and eventually the market turns down plus houses in the process of being built get finished leaving oversupply. Another thing to consider is second/third homes and foreigners buying vacation homes here. As the dollar drops the Europeans can pick up homes at good prices, especially in the resort, retirement areas of Florida.

With warm regards,

John Mauldin
