I was referring to the high death rate among Palestnian journalists who dare mention Arafat's corruption or gangsterism. I read recently of a cartoon in an Arab newspaper showing a father refusing a suitor for his daughter's hand on the grounds that he was a journalist and could not protect himself or her. One journalist read the cartoon and remarked that it was no joke to him as that was precisely the situation he was in himself.

As for Jenin, are you going to bring up the "massacre" that the Pals tried to allege before their absurdities collapsed on themselves? Sure, one photographer got shot (he was actually American, btw, it was Anthony Shadid of the Boston Globe). He had nothing particularly embarrassing, he had just snuck into the war zone to get some photos. It is dangerous to sneak into a war zone with a camera. The glint off a lens shows up a long way off, and a soldier cannot tell if the lens belongs to a camera or a range-finder.
